MaO ry x TKO-äly ry Mapathon 3.4.!

📍Mikä ihmeen mapathon? Missing Maps -mapathoneissa eli map marathoneissa tehdään karttoja kriisiavun ja kehitysyhteistyön tarpeisiin. Ideana on lisätä satelliittikuvista OpenStreetMapille (ns. karttojen wikipedia) esimerkiksi rakennuksia ja teitä sellaisilta alueilta, joilta karttatiedot puuttuvat. Näin esimerkiksi pelastajientyö helpottuu.

🌎Tämän mapathonin teemaa ei ole vielä päätetty, mutta jokin ajankohtainen humanitäärinen kohde kuitenkin luvassa! Ihan maratonin verran ei myöskään tarvitse kliksutella karttoja, vaan tapahtuma kestää vain pari tuntia, ja tarjolla on luonnollisesti pientä purtavaa! Mapathon järjestetään Think Companyn tiloissa Exactumissa parhaaseen after work -aikaan eli klo 16–18. Halukkaat voivat jatkaa Oljenkorteen puimaan päivän ansioita.

🤝 Mukaan tarvitset vain itsesi, läppärisi (+hiiren) ja intoa! Aikaisempaa kokemusta digitoinnista ei tarvitse, ja alussa on lyhyt demo ensikertalaisille. Liity siis mukaan tekemään arvokasta humanitääristä työtä!

📍 What on earth is a mapathon? In Missing Maps mapathons, maps are created for the needs of crisis relief and development cooperation. The idea is to add buildings and roads from satellite images to OpenStreetMap (the Wikipedia of maps) in areas where map data is missing. This makes the work of rescuers, for example, easier.

🌎The theme of this mapathon has not yet been decided, but there will definitely be some current humanitarian focus! You won't need to click maps for a full marathon, the event will only last a couple of hours, and of course, there will be some snacks available! The mapathon will be held at Think Company, in Exactum, at 16-18. Afterparty at Oljenkorsi.

🤝 All you need to bring is yourself, your laptop (+ mouse), and enthusiasm! The mapathon is suitable for everyone regardless of previous experience. There is a short demo in the beginning. So, join us in doing valuable humanitarian work!

📍 Vad är egentligen en mapathon? I Missing Maps mapathons skapas kartor för krishjälp och utvecklingssamarbete. Tanken är att lägga till byggnader och vägar från satellitbilder till OpenStreetMap (Wikipedia för kartor) på områden där kartdata saknas. Detta underlättar arbetet för räddningspersonalen, till exempel.

🌎Temat för detta mapathon har ännu inte bestämts, men det kommer definitivt att finnas något aktuellt humanitärt fokus! Du behöver inte klicka på kartor för ett helt maraton, evenemanget varar bara ett par timmar, och självklart finns det lite snacks tillgängliga! Mapathonen kommer att hållas på Think Company på Exactum, från kl 16 till 18. Efterfest på Oljenkorsi.

🤝 Allt du behöver ta med dig är dig själv, din bärbara dator (+ mus) och entusiasm! Mapathon är lämpligt för alla. Så, gå med oss och gör värdefullt humanitärt arbete!
