Sitsit, eli akateemiset pöytäjuhlat, ovat tärkeä osa pohjoismaista yliopistokulttuuria. Lyhyesti sanottuna sitseillä pukeudutaan hienosti, syödään sekä juodaan, ja viimeisimpänä, muttei vähäisimpänä, lauletaan.
Pukukoodista: Tumma puku tai jonkinlainen hame, mekko tai siisti housuasu on varma valinta.
Jos nyt mietit “miksi”, kysyn “miksi ei”, ja kumoan samalla huonoimmat vastauksesi:
En osaa laulaa!
-En minäkään.
En osaa sitsata.
-No tässäpä hyvä tapa opetella.
En omista formaalia asua.
-Hanki sellainen, tarvitset joka tapauksessa.
En halua humaltua.
-Ilmottaudu alkoholittomana.
En tunne sieltä ketään.
-Sitseillä tutustut.
Vuoden 2020 fuksien ja tuutoreiden palkitseminen on lykkääntynyt, joten se tapahtuu myös näillä sitseillä.

Sitsit (academic table parties) has an important role in Finnish university culture. In short: we dress up nicely, we eat and drink, and last but not the least, we sing.
Dress code: A suit or some sort of equivalent. Something fancier than jeans, but white tie is overdoing it.
Now if your wondering “why, I’ll ask “why not” and refute your worst arguments:
I can’t sing!
-Me neither.
I don't know what sitsit is.
-Well here's a good way to learn.
I don’t have formal clothes.
-Go get some, you need them anyways.
I don’t want to get drunk.
-Sign up as non-alcohol.
I don’t know anyone there.
-You will.
Rewarding of the freshers and tutors of 2020 has been postponed, so it will be done at the sitsit too.
