Is your brain possibly getting a bit clogged up by all the intelligent things you do every day? Don't worry; we have come to your rescue! Fill your existence with fresh air and Finland-experience with some very essential very Finnish things by signing up for cross-country skiing on Friday 8th of March! (last day of exam week).

Crosswhat? Since we have no mountains here, when Finns talk about "skiing" they usually mean skiing just on flat ground. For a detailed description what this is about, and even some technique hints, check this out. Ignore the part about paying for accessing the tracks, we don't do that here. The only part you need to pay for is a part of the rental fee of the skiing gear, 15 e. What you should not ignore is clothing advice, proper outdoor clothing will definitely increase the quality of your experience!

To join the fun, sign up and appear in Helsinki's skiing paradise Paloheinä, to the ski rental (next to the parking lot) on exam week Friday at 10am. Then, we will go fetch the rental gear, and have a short technique lesson. After that we are free to ski to our hearts' desire! Total beginners have a large completely flat area on a field, behind which there is a beautiful ancient forest where you can experience the best of the best of skiing: gliding through a glittering snowy forest. For the adventurepeople, there is also no lack of steep enough hills on the competition tracks (that are easy to avoid for the beginner).

Lastly: bring a snack! Everything tastes great outside!

PS. Unfortunately we have to ask for participants' weights in the sign-up, because ski sizing also depends on body weight (ski stiffness depends on it). If you do not want to share your body weight, feel free to input any weight, just remember that your ski size will be chosen according to the number you give us.

Jumittaako päätä kökkiä tietokoneella! Pelastuksesi on saapunut: tule hiihtämään! Omilla välineillä 0e, vuokravälineillä 15e.

Saavu siis Paloheinän majalle 8. maaliskuuta, tenttiviikon perjantaina, nautiskelemaan talvisäästä ja mainioista laduista hyvällä seuralla. Latuja löytyy mitalta ja mäkisyydeltään aivan kaikille taitotasoille. Boonuksena taitava hiihtäjä voi halutessaan alkaa hiihto-apuopeksi.

Viimeisenä: kantsii ottaa eväitä, kaikki maistuu ulkona paremmalta :). Epäselvyyksiä voi kysellä Telegramissa @riikoro.

PS. valitettavasti joudumme pyytämään osallistujilta kehonpainot. Tätä tarvitaan suksien oikean koon määritykseen (suksen jousto riippuu hiihtäjän painosta). Jos et halua jakaa painoasi, voit antaa väärän arvon, mutta huomaathan, että suksesi valitaan antamasi arvon perusteella.
